And so… on a bright, sunny, unseasonably warm day in March, sleeQo was uploaded and became a website in beta. sleeQo, like most new apps or products started with a dream (not one of those you have when you’re sleeping, one of those where you’re fantasizing about something you wish existed) – wouldn’t it be fantastic if there were something that would help me find content to update my blog with when I’m out of ideas? Wouldn’t it be amazing if I could get something to my inbox where I could just fill in a form and POOF have a new post up?
Some quick internet research showed that my gut feeling about blog abandonment was correct - ”Several studies indicate that most blogs are abandoned soon after creation (with 60% to 80% abandoned within one month, depending on whose figures you choose to believe) and that few are regularly updated.” (source: Caslon Analytics blogging). Having been to blogging conferences like BlogHer (2007 in Chicago & 2008 in San Francisco) I understood that lack of time and/or content is practically universal for the average, non-professional blogger.
So quite a while & a lot of hard work later, here we are. We welcome you to try sleeQo out. Register & decide what subscription (if any) you want, fill in a meme & post it on your blog – and see how you feel… and most importantly, come back and tell us what you think – what you liked more & what you liked less, what features or topics are missing and what else do we need to do to make you a sleeQo fan.
